Saturday Sundays

V.I.P. Records is planning to host a summer music series called “Saturday Sundays” at Lincoln Park. This event aims to celebrate Gospel Music during Black Music Month and invites the local Long Beach community and churches to participate and enjoy the festivities. The goal is to create a relaxed and inspiring environment where families and friends can come together to enjoy music and explore community services. The event will feature a generator powered sound system for a DJ and potential vocalists, set up on the steps of the Billy Jean King library.
The event is free and open to the public, with an expected audience of V.I.P. followers, participating churches, and the local Long Beach community. Different city departments, such as water department, housing authority, and others, will be invited to set up tables/info booths. Cross-programming opportunities with Parks and Rec. (lawn games, etc.) and the Billie Jean King Library will also be explored based on their summer theme “Lift Your Voice.”
