Long Beach, CA (May 28, 2024) – Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DTLB Alliance), on behalf of the Lincoln Park Collaborative, is excited to highlight both new and returning free programs and events this summer, all taking place in Downtown’s historic Lincoln Park.

One of the highlighted programs includes Bollywood Dance, a weekly free dance class led by Bollywood dance instructor, Madhavi Narayanan. The free classes take place on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, encouraging inclusivity and allowing more people to experience the health benefits of outdoor movement. Additionally, it fosters a sense of community as participants come together to learn, laugh, and move, creating connections and celebrating the different folk styles in South Asia and the rich cultural heritage of Bollywood.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching at Lincoln Park and meeting members of the community in this unique and welcoming environment,” said Narayanan. “Every person I have met brings so much energy and enthusiasm to the class. Movement can be an incredible way to destress and connect with your community, and I hope that attendees can leave class feeling like they got to connect to their bodies and the music through joy and gratitude.”

Other free classes include dog training three times a week, a weekly walking group, yoga, and more, all with the aim of continuing to activate the park as a great community resource in Long Beach’s urban core.
