LONG BEACH, CA (October 10, 2023) – Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DLBA) is proud to announce the expansion of its economic development efforts with two new social hours aimed at fostering connections among the business community in Downtown Long Beach (DTLB).

The first initiative, titled “Link & Learn,” offers a relaxed setting for business owners, managers, and community members to engage and collaborate. Hosted by the Economic Development Committee of DLBA, this happy hour series will kick off on October 11, 2023, at Ficklewood from 5:30 to 7 PM.

The second series, “Mug to Mug,” is designed to be a caffeinated exchange of ideas and relationships. Set to take place monthly, the first in the series will be held on October 17 from 10 to 11 AM at BlankSpaces. These morning sessions will offer a refreshing twist to business networking and rotate around the Downtown.

Austin Metoyer, President and CEO of DLBA, expressed his enthusiasm for the programs, saying, “These new initiatives embody DLBA’s commitment to nurturing our vibrant Downtown business ecosystem. By offering platforms like Link & Learn and Mug to Mug, we’re reinforcing the essence of community, where businesses can thrive through collaboration and mutual support.”

Stephanie El Tawil, Economic Development and Policy Manager of DLBA, echoed this sentiment, stating, “We recognize the immense potential in fostering a tight-knit business community. These events serve as a testament to our dedication to ensuring every business in DTLB has the tools and connections needed for success.”

Both events symbolize DLBA’s renewed approach to revitalizing and promoting the economic growth of Downtown Long Beach by bridging gaps within the community. Business owners and managers in the area are encouraged to attend and take full advantage of these networking opportunities.
