This spring marks the 15th anniversary of “Taste of Downtown,” the culinary event brought to you by the Downtown Long Beach Alliance that combines food and beverage tasting, live music, and shopping within Downtown’s one-of-a-kind businesses. To celebrate, the DTLB Alliance is cooking up something very special!
On Saturday, May 11 from noon to 4 PM, over 40 Downtown businesses will be a part of “Sip, Shop & Stroll” — a special “Taste of Downtown” event that will make it easy for you to absorb DTLB’s vibrant atmosphere, sample its fantastic assortment of food offerings, and get some quality springtime shopping done. Keep in mind that Mother’s Day is the next day! “Sip, Shop & Stroll” will be a perfect occasion to spoil Mom with a great time and a gift or two.
“Sip, Shop & Stroll” is a little different than the traditional Taste of Downtowns of the past. Rather than buying individual taste tickets, you’ll purchase one ticket which gives you an all-access wristband, tote bag and a souvenir cup, so you’ll be all set to sample all the food and drink being served! Also, you can upgrade to VIP and get into special tastings, shows, and other exclusive activities.
The highlight of the event, participating retailers in the East Village will be paired with local food and beverage businesses so you can savor your treats while browsing inside the shops.
The East Village will be alive with music performances and family-friendly activities throughout the day. The celebration is the DTLB Alliance’s way of commemorating a beautiful Downtown tradition and setting the stage for the summer’s Taste of Downtown events. Admission is FREE for kids 10 and younger!
