Our hearts are with everyone affected by the ongoing wildfires across Los Angeles, and by all these efforts it’s clear the DTLB community is coming together to provide support. Below is a list of incredible local efforts, along with a few regional initiatives, offering assistance, resources, places to donate and ways you can help. ❤️

Regional & Citywide Support Efforts

  • LAFD Foundation: Supporting firefighters on the frontlines across L.A. through emergency funding. You can contribute directly via their website here.
  • World Central Kitchen: Ensuring wildfire victims and first responders have access to fresh, hot meals. More info here.
  • LA Regional Food Bank: Accepting food donations and volunteers. Drop-off locations are located in Long Beach and Signal Hill. For locations, click here.

  • YMCA of Greater Long Beach: Offering free childcare services and day passes to those in need. For details, click here.

How Our Community Is Helping

As wildfires continue to impact LA County, Downtown Long Beach businesses and organizations are stepping up to provide essential support to evacuees, first responders, and affected communities. Here’s how you can access or contribute to ongoing relief efforts:

Discounted Hotel Stays & Rest Areas

  • The Queen Mary: Discounted rooms for evacuees through end of the month ($189/night). Call (562) 435-3511 or visit queenmary.com for details.
  • Crunch Fitness & Planet Fitness: Offering free showers, electricity, and rest spaces to displaced residents and first responders.
  • Hyatt Centric & Hyatt Regency: Offering a 15% discount through the end of the month to evacuees (proof of address required). Book online using code 11125 in the Group or Corporate Code section to receive the discount.
  • City Center: Offering an evacuee discount using promo code WEHEARTYOU10 (case sensitive). For instructions on how to book, click here.

Relief Efforts, Drives & Donations

  • Vons: Disaster relief fund accepting donations at checkout. Matching the first $100K raised through the end of the month.
  • Rose Park Roasters & Got Your Back LB: Donating proceeds (10% and 20%, respectively) to the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund. More info here.
  • 7th Street Collective: Accepting Venmo donations (use “🦺” emoji) for mutual aid, supply runs, and transport reimbursement. More info here.
  • Alley Cat Deliveries: Collecting and delivering supplies.
  • Downtown Runners: Hosting a food drive on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 12–11 PM at Trademark Brewing. 20% of to-go order sales will be donated to an animal shelter. Donors receive their first drink for $5. More info here.
  • Shoreline Village: Emergency relief donation dive. More info here.
  • BYO Long Beach: Collecting clean, dry jars to provide travel-sized essentials for displaced individuals. More info here.
  • ISM Brewing, Sonoratown, & The Ordinaire: Hosting a donation drive. All 3 drop-off locations are on the same block. Donations will be driven to evacuation shelters and distribution hubs in L.A.
  • Yoga108: Hosting a donation based yoga class on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 3 to 4:30 PM for wildfire relief. Click here for details on how to sign up.
  • Breakfast Bar: Hosting a fire relief donation collection now through Sunday, Jan. 19, daily from 6 AM to 2 PM.
  • LBMA Downtown: Art Supply Drive on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 11 AM to 4 PM accepting new and gently used art supplies supporting Los Angeles schools.

Discounted/Free Food & Drink

  • Broken Spirits Distillery: Providing food to those in need and first responder support. Also serving as a donation drop-off location for LA Food Bank. DM for assistance @brokenspiritsdistillery.
  • Olive & Rose / O&R Bagels: Free coffee and bagels for firefighters; 20% off for evacuees. More info here.
  • Panini Kabob Grill: 20% off for first responders; free meals for firefighters. Call 949-788-1620 for complimentary food delivery. More info here.
  • District Wine: Free meal and a glass of wine or beer for evacuees.

Discounted/Free Services

  • Purrfect Pet Parlor: Free baths for pets affected by the wildfires.
  • Clay on First: Offering free pottery classes for evacuees.
  • Fairmont Breakers Hotel & Spa: Offering 40% off discount on spa services to fire evacuees.
  • Atlantic Studio 425 / Michelle Salemi Hair: Open chair for stylists who lost their workspace. More info here.
