Illuminate Downtown Decorating Competition
Each year, business owners help light up Downtown Long Beach for the festive season with the Illuminate Downtown decorating contest! DTLB is already known for its holiday cheer with decoration efforts from the Alliance, the Convention Center, The Pike Outlets and Shoreline Village — but its small businesses that really make DTLB shine. Join in on the festivities by visiting and voting for participating locations starting Nov. 24!
Ornament Hunt
From Nov. 24 to Dec. 31, shoppers can join the Shop Small Holiday Ornament Hunt in DTLB! Search for plush holiday ornaments hidden in participating stores, collect stickers on your bingo cards, and earn a special prize when you complete a row. Participating businesses will be announced the week of Nov. 17 — follow along on Instagram for updates and kickoff details!
One-Day Shop Small Giveaways!
This Shop Small Saturday, the Alliance is rolling out a one-day Shop Small Giveaway to spark excitement and bring shoppers into downtown businesses. Followers can grab a special passcode on Instagram, then visit participating shops throughout the day to redeem a free item. It’s a fun, festive way to boost foot traffic, welcome new customers, and spread holiday cheer.

Angel City Market
On Shop Small Saturday, November 29, the Promenade comes alive with a vibrant open-air marketplace featuring local vendors, a live DJ, and plenty of family-friendly fun. Bring your pups along for special dog-friendly activities and enjoy a lively community atmosphere perfect for all ages.
