Long Beach, CA (May 30, 2024) – The Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DTLB Alliance) is pleased to present the next Taste of Downtown at Pine & Promenade. In a continued effort by the DTLB Alliance to activate streets for pedestrians and bicyclists, this year will also feature a partial street closure. Media interested in attending and covering the event can RSVP in advance to receive 15 complimentary tasting tickets. RSVP to asiam@dlba.org and include your publication, title, email address, phone number and any relevant social media accounts.
WHAT:
Taste of Downtown features live music and DJs, bite-size food samples, beer, wine, and cocktails from Downtown’s rich community of creatives, chefs, brewers, and mixologists, along with activities and experiences highlighting each neighborhood. The event is a three-part food and beverage tasting series hosted by the Downtown Long Beach Alliance, where guests can sample portions of signature dishes provided downtown.
The first in the three-event “Taste of Downtown” series took place in the East Village on Saturday, May 11, and was a fresh take on the staple event. For the Pine and Promenade edition, Taste will return to its traditional format. And for the first time ever, a roller disco will also take place during Tase of Downtown.
TICKETS:
Admission to the event is FREE and one tasting ticket costs $1. Each food and drink vendor will charge accordingly. The average cost per sample is between 3 and 7 tasting tickets, with drinks ranging between 2 and 9 tasting tickets. Tasting tickets may be purchased on the day of the event.
Tickets may also be purchased in advance here. Pre-purchased tickets will be picked up onsite at the event at a Will Call entrance to skip the normal ticketing lines.
WHEN:
The two-day event will take place in the evenings on Wednesday, June 12, and Thursday, June 13, starting at 5 PM and ending at 9 PM. Alcoholic beverages will end sales at 8 PM.
WHERE:
This is an outdoor event. The Pine & Promenade event footprint includes Pine Avenue between 1st Street and 3rd Street, and the Promenade between Broadway and the Mosaic property north of 3rd Street.
There will be a street closure on Pine Ave. between Broadway and 3rd Street, as well as a beer garden.
WHO:
Current sponsors for this year’s series include Mosaic, California Resources Corporation, Partake Collective, Long Beach Transit, 200 West Ocean, Studio One Eleven, and a free bike valet and tech services provided by Pedal Movement. The bar sponsors for the Pine and Promenade edition will be Altar Society, Secret Tiki and Waters Edge Winery.
