Join us June 12-13 for a culinary celebration featuring Downtown’s top chefs, live music, and free admission!

Join the celebration of the 15th anniversary of Taste of Downtown!

The Pine & Promenade edition, the second in the three-part seasonal series, will feature a stellar list of Downtown purveyors of fine foods and beverages, happening Wednesday and Thursday, June 12 and 13 from 5 to 9 PM. Sample signature dishes and drinks from a huge variety of Downtown’s best chefs, brewers, and mixologists! Local DJs and live performances will add just the right blend of party music and cool ambiance to the menu.

Now in its 15th year, Downtown Long Beach Alliance’s (DTLB Alliance) Taste of Downtown series has done so much to increase interest in the quality and variety of Downtown’s culinary landscape. It continues to be a key catalyst in local business growth and community engagement, and its enduring popularity has made it a symbol of the vitality and tenaciousness of Downtown.

“Over the past 15 years, Taste of Downtown has helped pave the way for our district’s resurgence,” said DTLB Alliance President and CEO Austin Metoyer. “We are thrilled to see new faces and new flavors join us this year, reinforcing our commitment to promoting and supporting the vibrant business landscape of DTLB.”

Taste will return to its original format at next week’s event, after switching it up at the May 11 edition by pairing food and drink vendors with DTLB retail businesses. For this event, one tasting ticket costs $1, and each food and drink vendor will price their treats accordingly. The average cost per food sample is between three and four tickets: Drinks range between six and 12 tickets. Admission to the event is FREE!

Featured musically on both evenings will be Manuel the Band, a fixture at many Tastes of Downtown throughout the years. The charismatic band has gained quite a following with its eclectic blend of indie rock, jazz, and the soulful melodies of frontman Manuel Grajeda III. If you’ve never seen them live, check out their show at Taste of Downtown and see why they were featured in Music Connection Magazine’s Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists article! Get a sneak preview on the band’s media page.

Current sponsors for this year’s three-part Taste of Downtown include Mosaic, California Resources Corporation, Partake Collective, Long Beach Transit, 200 West Ocean, Studio One Eleven, and Pedal Movement, which will be supplying free bike valet and tech services. The bar sponsors for the Pine and Promenade edition will be Altar Society, Secret Tiki and Waters Edge Winery.

What a perfect way to welcome the summer season! Bring your friends and prepare to roam, taste, listen, and lounge all evening long. There will be a partial street closure on Pine between Broadway and 3rd to make the event more pedestrian and bike friendly. You’ll be so stoked, you’ll want to attend the third installment of this year’s Taste, which will take place Wednesday and Thursday, August 14 and 15 at the Waterfront.
