Painter Warren Long’s individual style defies pigeonholing. American Outsider art, folk art, Latin Renaissance and Impressionism are all obvious
influences. His original degrees were in ecological systemic biology, a study of life and his paintings incorporate historical context with biology, personal fantasy and a beach-life ethic unique to southern California. Warren never lived away from the ocean and surfing was his big passion and, in the sea, he felt you become a part of nature.

He expressed a startlingly wide breath of influences not only through subject matter and materials, but also with his distinct use of bold sunlit color. Long’s signature is highly saturated colors and rich, three-dimensional texture. His funky use of assemblage is rightly inspired from the earth and is an organic process. A humorous anarchist his paintings reflect the poignancy of our own lives and captivate viewers and collectors worldwide.
