Opening Night: The Andrews Brothers – A fun musical featuring music from the 1940’s
February 19, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
By Roger Bean
Musical & Vocal Arrangements: Roger Bean, Michael Borth & Jon Newton
It’s 1945 in the South Pacific, and The Andrews Sisters are scheduled to headline the big USO show. When a flu outbreak quarantines the girls and they fail to arrive at the big gig, three soldiers find themselves giving the performance of a lifetime! The Andrews Brothers is filled with songs made famous by The Andrews Sisters and other top artists of the era, including “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree,” and “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive.” Mistaken identities and madcap adventures—imagine Bing Crosby and Bob Hope in a road movie of Some Like It Hot—along with the music of an entire generation highlight this wonderful valentine to the heroes of World War II.
“. . .A helluva great production. The Andrew’s Brothers is top-notch and entertaining beyond words.” – Broadway World
