LONG BEACH, CA (May 9, 2024) – The Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DTLB Alliance) released its midyear update, covering the time period from Oct. 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. This period represents the mid-point of the organization’s fiscal year 2023-2024. 

“We’ve remained steadfast in our commitment to provide support and resources to our stakeholders,” said President & CEO Austin Metoyer. “From creating new programs, adapting to the needs of new and incoming business – such as the DTLB Food Series and Mug to Mug – to fortifying economic initiatives with continued success – such as The Education Series – we’ve worked hard to rebuild our Downtown community while navigating the complexities of a recovering economy.”  

The report highlights each department within the DTLB Alliance and notes several new initiatives, as well as new successes of various returning programs. Some highlights include: 

  • Launching new networking programs, including the DTLB Food Series, Link & Learn and Mug to Mug 
  • Welcoming 160 participants to The Education Series: For Small Businesses & Entrepreneurs 
  • Hiring a new full-time Homeless Outreach Coordinator to service the Downtown 
  • Initiated a contract with C.S.I. Patrol Services Inc. to enhance downtown safety and address concerns 
  • Installed 82 new lights on 26 trees and, in collaboration with Friends of Lincoln Park partners, hosted 91 free classes at the park 
  • DTLB Alliance social media garnered 3.7 million video views with over 113K total followers across all platforms, reaping 146K page views for DTLB related initiatives
