A UNIQUE FLUTE AND ORGAN CONCERT

September 11, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The First Congregational Church is hosting a concert on September 11th to raise funds for the preservation of our historic building. We will be featuring a world renowned flautist, Jean Ferrandis, whom Leonard Bernstein once described as “Pan himself.” It is a rare event that he performs in Southern California. Accompanying him will be First Church’s organist Dr. Marc Dickey at the 70-rank Mighty Moller concert pipe organ and the Sanctuary Steinway concert grand piano. The music will be by Bach, Debussy, Hindemith, Schumann, and Verdi. The evening will conclude with a tour of the building. Built in 1914 by the Long Beach Bixby family, The First Congregational Church is a beautiful Italian Romanesque structure in downtown Long Beach. Join us in a spectacular setting for an enchanted evening!
