The DTLB Art + Design Walk: Celebrate Downtown Edition returns on Saturday, April 5, from 2 to 7 PM! Explore Downtown Long Beach as local artists and designers showcase their work in galleries, studios, shops, and pop-up spaces throughout the area. It’s a great chance to discover new talent, connect with the creative community, and experience the city in a whole new way. Check out all the stops and activations at dtlb.org/art-walk.

240 Long Beach Blvd. will be the main Art + Design Walk: Celebrate Downtown Hub, hosting a village of artists, an assortment of pop-ups by accomplished creatives, as well as the official Spirit of Downtown Awards presentation from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. There are MANY artists displaying their work, so make the Celebrate Downtown Hub a must-visit. You’ll be serenaded by DJ Jasper X, who gets active on the turntables while playing a well-curated classic hip-hop playlist.

The DTLB Design District will also be presenting a dynamic lineup of activations during the event. Highlights include “What Do You Make In Long Beach?” on the Mosaic Promenade, which will transform the area into a vibrant, interactive showcase of Long Beach’s talented designers, makers, and innovators.

Another activation under the DTLB Design District umbrella is “Music To My Eyes” at the Edison Theatre, 213 E Broadway, curated by Creative Class Collective. It’s a multi-disciplinary exhibition involving music, painting, and photography contributed by 26 Long Beach Unified School District students. Recordings of music and speeches by such influential figures as Miles Davis, Mozart, and Martin Luther King Jr. served as catalysts for their artistic creations.

1st Street between Elm and Linden avenues becomes the East Village Art Block. You’ll see artworks from such creatives as freelance painter/illustrator Natalie Moyado, hear the sweet sounds of Kim the Singing Harpist, and catch the irresistible aroma of wood-fired pizza from Miller Butler. Follow the East Village Arts District on Instagram @eastvillageartsdistrict for details and updates!
