Live After 5 and SAM Bicycle Drive-In

Live After 5 and Summer and Music will join forces August 15, 2019, for an evening of live entertainment, food, drinks and an at dusk screening of the popular Tim Burton film Big Fish. The film will take place at The Promenade parking lot (233 The Promenade North), located between Broadway and Third Street. The family-friendly event is free, open to all ages and sponsored by the Downtown Long Beach Alliance and the City of Long Beach’s Public Works Department.
Showcasing the 2003 American fantasy drama, Big Fish, the evening will also feature Long Beach’s Garage Theatre entertaining us with “tall tales” prior to the screening. For music lovers, the film features the Academy Award-nominated soundtrack by composer Danny Elfman and Matt Costa will be performing live. So pedal to The Promenade, find a spot, and settle in for an evening of entertainment!
And what would movie watching be without proper concessions? Breakers Road Show Food Truck with be there along with others to offer delicious bites throughout the night. To whet your whistle, beer from Beachwood Brewing will be on tap and Elinor will be serving wine and cider.
Live After 5 will kick off at The Loop at 5PM. Participants can take the free trolley or Big Red Bus around downtown where there will be various locations offering specials and live music. The Bicycle Drive-In will begin at 6PM at The Promenade parking lot with food, drinks and tall tales followed by the film at dusk. There will be a free bike valet courtesy of Pedal Movement and for those that choose to drive autos, two-hour free parking is available at public garages located between Third and Sixth Streets just east of Pine Avenue adjacent to The Streets.
