The DTLB Art Walk, the fourth in the quarterly series, will take place on Saturday, July 13, throughout Downtown Long Beach’s unique neighborhoods. All are encouraged to attend, support local artists, visit and shop at participating Downtown businesses, and explore the following exhibitions and activations on Saturday, July 13:
If you plan on riding your bike to DTLB Art Walk, there will be two bike valets where you can drop off your bike for free, courtesy of Pedal Movement, at the former Acres of Books Building (240 Long Beach Blvd.) and at Altar Society Brewing Co. (230 Pine Ave.).
EXHIBITIONS & ACTIVATIONS
FEATURED EXHIBITS
🌎 Spacetime Collaborative presents CONTINUUM (5 – 9 PM) Former Acres of Books Building (240 Long Beach Blvd.)
An immersive experience of interactive exhibits, featuring photography, projection mapping, robotics, fashion, and AR. The exhibition kicks off with a transformative gong bath by Oracle Gong from 5 to 6 PM, followed by art, music, and exploration.

The Long Beach Museum of Art is excited to present “Chris Eckert: Overload,” an exhibition running from July 13 to October 6, 2024, at LBMA Downtown. Artist Chris Eckert’s large-scale installations, both inside and outside the museum, use machinery to explore themes of surveillance, control, privacy, and misinformation.

🎬The Genius of Place: The Life and Work of Geoffrey Bawa, Sri Lanka’s Premier Architect (4 – 6 PM) Studio One Eleven 245 E 3rd St.
Join Studio One Eleven in collaboration with the LA Design Festival’s Docos on Design Series at the Downtown Long Beach ArtWalk for an exclusive screening of the 2023 film celebrating the legendary Sri Lankan architect, Geoffrey Bawa. Directed by Afdhel Aziz and co-created by Paul Vu, this film offers an intimate exploration of Bawa’s iconic works, highlighting his profound influence on modern architecture in South Asia. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion led by Studio One Eleven Urban Design Director Shruti Shankar, featuring co-director and editor Paul Vu and architect, Gerhard Mayer, who worked with Bawa in his early career. Gain insight into Bawa’s creative process and the spiritual energy that infused his designs, as well as the filmmaking journey behind “The Genius of the Place.”

Visit the Muse Lab to celebrate the bond between humans and their furry companions through art with a Dog Paw Paint Workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to create stunning floral paintings using an unconventional yet heartwarming technique: incorporating their dog’s paw prints. Attendees will receive guidance from talented artist Vanessa Reyes @nillareyes, ensuring each paw print becomes a unique brushstroke masterpiece.
All necessary materials, including non-toxic, pet-safe paints and canvases, will be provided, guaranteeing a hassle-free and enjoyable painting experience for both humans and their canine companions.
