Children will explore the art of self-expression using mirrors, watercolors, ink, and the art of collage. This unique learning experience places an emphasis on having fun while exploring techniques for creating self-portraits inspired by artist and farmworker, Narsiso Martinez. Join us for a morning drawing workshop led by teaching artist Maria Guadalupe in our new Corner Garden. All materials will be provided by MOLAA! Registration is required. Please arrive on time, as space is limited. Your spot will be offered to another attendee if you arrive more than 15 minutes late.

Drawing inspiration from the colors and shapes in our gallery dedicated to contemporary abstract art, children will learn how to create their own abstract compositions using markers and their own two hands!

Inspired by Frank Romero’s work on display in the MOLAA Lobby, participants will learn how to construct nichos or miniature “shrines” dedicated to loved ones.
