The Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DLBA), announces the return of its Winter Small Business Workshop Series. The Winter Small Business Workshop Series is another educational resource to help support small business owners in Downtown Long Beach. This three-part series will cover a wide variety of topics important to many small business owners, including legal compliance, tax compliance, developing a brand, and profitability.
Each workshop will be approximately an hour and a half and will occur on Saturdays during February and March. We encourage our Downtown business owners to signup for this amazing opportunity.

Workshop 3 – Saturday, March 27, 2021
Action Plan(ning). Presented by Kena Fuller, Fuller Management Corporation and Ashleigh N. Stone, Esq., Stone Law Firm, PC
During this workshop, participants will be introduced to communication strategy, rollout strategy, strategic planning, and legal strategy to position your business for success.
This first half of the workshop is designed to provide participants with a working guideline on how best to reposition themselves and their businesses for a return in increased business operation and customer interaction. Each participant will walk through preparing their plans, following with a worksheet to self-complete, and designated one-on-one follow-up session(s) to work directly with Kena Fuller.
The second half of the workshop, led by Ashleigh Stone, Esq., will discuss the ways your business can legally thrive in 2021. She will discuss several areas of your business where you can work proactively to help reduce the risk of expensive legal problems regarding your agreements, workforce, and assets. Now’s a perfect time to review, reset and take charge of your business practices with the help of Ashleigh’s extensive work protecting small businesses.

Ashleigh Stone, Esq., Owner & Principal Attorney of Stone Law & Consulting
Ashleigh Stone, Esq. is the founder of Stone Law Firm, PC. which is based in downtown Long Beach and empowers business owners to implement best business and employment practices to reduce the risk of costly legal problems down the road. After building her legal career as an employment and business litigator, Ashleigh saw first-hand the true cost of poor business practices. Stone Law Firm’s legal products focus on business formation, contracts, trademarks and HR advice and counsel. Ashleigh is also a passionate supporter of local entrepreneurs as an organizer of 1 Million Cups Long Beach, committee member of the Downtown Long Beach Alliance, and speaker at various LBSU Institute of Innovation events.

With senior management and business development experience reflecting multiple capabilities, Omar Herrera has been able to provide his expertise, experience, and sustainable knowledge to multiple small-business owners over the course of 12 years. Having a criminal defense background, Omar is well aware of all up-to-date laws and regulations needed to be in compliance for all business purposes. He aims to provide small businesses with the proper accounting guidance, tax preparation, and payroll services that help enhance small businesses year round. The foundation of his career as the Business Development Executive at TAXCO is centered on relationship building and customer satisfaction. Karina Martinez, Founder & CEO of avana Creative
Karina Martinez is an experienced communication brand strategist who has successfully led the launch and development of some of largest emerging brands in the food, beverage and lifestyle industries. She founded Avana creative in 2018 after seeing a huge gap for approachable and effective communication services for start-up and small businesses. As a passionate advocate for minorities in entrepreneurship she currently sits on the advisory board of a several brands and has recently become a member of Angeles Investors, the leading Latinx Angel Investor group.
