Walk to Play! Day, a spring-themed event coming up on April 8 in Lincoln Park and nearby Downtown locations, is designed to get folks out and walking. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy a Downtown stroll to the park, where they can participate in several family-friendly activities involving movement and play. The Long Beach Collaborative, the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services, the Lincoln Park Collaborative, Go Active LB, and Walk & Roll Long Beach are hosting the event, which takes place on the weekend just before the Long Beach Unified School District’s Spring Break to make it easier for families to attend.

Some of the activities which center around children include a Mobile Recess at Lincoln Park and a Bicycle/Pedestrian Rodeo where children can ride bikes and scooters or simply walk through a mock city, practicing bike and pedestrian safety in a fun and engaging way.

Lawn games will be set up, and kids can leap around to their hearts’ content in an inflatable jumper.

Grownups can get active in a Bollywood Dance class led by Isha Patel at 9 AM. At 10:30 AM, the early spring edition of DLBA’s Coffee, Conversation and Clean Up event will happen, featuring Brent Dennis, Director of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine.

At noon, adults and children can train their pets together in a Dog Training class conducted by Charlie DiBono.

Families are also invited to enjoy the Egg Roll, a beloved early spring tradition.

Please check the poster for event locations and start times.
