This one’s for all the ghosts, ghouls, and goblins! On October 23, Virtual Taste of Downtown: Quarantine Halloween went live on Facebook with ghost stories, tours of haunted sites, Halloween crafts and home décor demonstrations, wine, and beer tastings, cooking tutorials, and more.

Virtual Taste of Downtown, August 14

The next installment of DLBA’s Virtual Taste of Downtown series will be “Staycation” themed. Virtual Taste of Downtown: Staycation Edition will take place on August 14 from 5-9 PM, streaming live from Facebook to uplift and connect businesses, residents, and the community at large. Many of us may have postponed summer vacations indefinitely. This event will be a mini getaway in which viewers can learn about fun, relaxing, and tasty staycation tricks and treats from the comfort of their homes.

Virtual Taste of Downtown, June 26

The Downtown Long Beach Alliance was proud to present its second Virtual Taste of Downtown event on June 26, from 5-9 PM. The free event streamed live from Facebook to uplift and connect businesses, residents, and the community at large. Video highlights included cooking, dessert and cocktail demos, restaurant tours, live music, a gift card giveaway and more! Participation was free and designed to give DTLB businesses a platform to reach new audiences. Virtual Taste of Downtown, May 29-30

Each summer, DLBA hosts Taste of Downtown, a multi-event series that invites residents and visitors to different neighborhoods in Downtown to sample and sip offerings from local eateries, enjoy live entertainment, and peruse shops. To adapt to the public health crisis and continue to support Downtown businesses by connecting them with the community, DLBA presented its first-ever Virtual Taste of Downtown: Takeout Together event on Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30. The free community event streamed live on Facebook, featuring cooking and cocktail-making demonstrations, shop tours, live music, and more.

By transitioning from its traditional and in-person Taste of Downtown event to a virtual in-home culinary experience and encouraging local takeout, Downtown restaurants and businesses were able to promote their offerings, connect with behind-the-scenes tours and demos, and ultimately continue to socially engage with patrons and the community.
