You may already have each first Friday and second Saturday of the month blocked off, but now there’s another one for you: Fourth Friday. Urban Hive Market is a monthly community event supporting small businesses and creative minds throughout Southern California. They’re returning on April 28th at The Pike Outlets.

Heather Shipley started Urban Hive Market in Santa Barbara and later expanded to Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach. Since relocating to Long Beach in 2015, she has set her sights on bringing the market here.

“As a small business owner, myself having the opportunity to have a place to sell on a regular basis is something I’ve always wanted,” said Shipley. “So I decided to bring Urban Hive to Long Beach – there’s such a strong community of makers here, this event fits right in.”

On Friday night, more than 60 independent artisans and vendors will set up booths on the lawn near the ferris wheel at The Pike Outlets. Shoppers will have the opportunity to buy indie pre-packaged foods, ceramics, succulents, jewelry, home goods, clothing, stationery, and more.

Making sure not to leave out the little Long Beachers, the event will also host a kids area with a hula hoop station and face painting.

If you can’t make it Friday, Urban Hive Market will return on May 24th.
