Live After 5, our monthly live music series bringing the best free entertainment in Long Beach, continues as we invade four different Downtown venues on December 8, all walking distance away from each other and decorated with lights.

It’s a Drag to Give
Location: Long Beach Convention Center
It’s a Drag to Give is charitable event featuring drag performances by outstanding Long Beach community members who you wouldn’t normally find, well, in drag. It’s a Drag To Give will kickoff at 7PM for cocktails, music and mingling followed by an evening of not-to-be-missed performances starting at 8PM.

How I MADE it: a Show and Tell Event Series
Location: MADE by Millworks
How I MADE It is open to interpretation. How I MADE … a product, poem, story, or song, or even through a tough trial, a divorce, giving birth, being a single parent, grad school, traveling alone, a marathon or becoming what you dreamed. Stories can be told through poems, songs, and other creative means.
This month’s featured presenters include: June Kaewsith, Dave Williams, and Sander Roscoe Wolff
Following the featured presenters, you are invited to share your story of how YOU made it in a 5-minute slot.

Saturday

34th Annual Parade of Lights
Location: Shoreline Village and the waterfront
Get in the holiday spirit as the Shoreline Yacht Club presents an “Around the World” themed holiday boat parade. Best views are from Shoreline Village, the Queen Mary and Rainbow Harbor.

East Village Walking Tour
Location: East Village Arts District
Long Beach Heritage will take you on a journey through the East Village Arts District and through history. For instance, did you know the Miss Universe contest took place for several years at the historic Lafayette Complex in the heart of the East Village?

A Broadway Holiday with Ana Gasteyer
Location: Long Beach Arena
Get into the holidays early and experience the fun of the POPS! with Broadway leading lady and Saturday Night Live alum, Ana Gasteyer. Led by veteran Broadway conductor and arranger, Larry Blank, the Long Beach Symphony will perform a roster of award-winning Broadway hits mixed with time-honored holiday pop favorites. And a late minute addition, David Alan Grier, will join Gasteyer on stage!

Second Saturday Art Walk
Location: East Village Arts District
The Art Walk takes place around the streets of Linden Ave, 1st Street, Broadway, 4th Street, and Elm. Local art galleries and businesses stay open until late evening as Linden Avenue is closed to the traffic and transformed into a street art fair by local artists and two stages are dedicated to street performances and live music.

My Damage Reading w/ Keith Morris & Friends
Location: Fingerprints
Best known for his role as frontman of the hardcore punk bands Black Flag, Circle Jerks, and Off!, Keith Morris is now trying his hand as Author with his new book, My Damage. For this event, Keith has enlisted some very cool friends to help him tell this story, those friends include Iris Berry (of The Ringling Sisters, but also known as a writer, poet, actress, and Los Angeles pop culture historian), Chris D (of Divine Horsemen and The Flesh Eaters, but also known as a poet, critic, writer, actor and filmmaker), and Jack Grisham (of T.S.O.L., The Joykiller, Tender Fury, and Manic Low, among others, as well as for his work as a writer and activist).

Shoreline Village is transformed into WhoVillage with Holiday Carolers and photos with Santa from 12PM – 4PM.
