Next week, residents and visitors alike will be able to sample the wares of more than 30 Downtown eateries and drinkeries at the second installment of Taste of Downtown 2022. The event takes place on June 29-30 from 6pm to 10pm at Pine & Promenade between First and Third Street.

Entry to the event is FREE! Taste tickets ($1 each) can be purchased and  redeemed for dozens of different food and beverage treats at Eventbrite, or on site with cash or credit card.  Tickets purchased for the Taste of Downtown can also be used at the third edition of this tasty trifecta, happening August 24 and 25 at Downtown’s Waterfront.

Major sponsors of Taste at Pine & Promenade include the shopping center Mosaic for the Beer Garden and the cannabis dispensary Catalyst for the Lounge. The design collective Studio 111 and the restaurant Padre are the entertainment co-sponsors. Bar sponsors for the event include Beachwood, Elinor, Portuguese Bend and Water’s Edge Winery.

Participating vendors and attendees alike are glad to be back outside, exchanging good vibes over great food, live music and drinks in Downtown’s Dining and Entertainment District.

The Auld Dubliner, a contemporary Irish Pub with age-old hospitality, has participated in every single Taste of Downtown since the event began, and is a vendor sponsor this year as well. “This event gives us a great opportunity to introduce our brand directly to the local residents,” said Co-Owner David Copley. “Being able to speak directly to the public really allows us to show who we are. Plus of course, it’s a really fun event. “Activity hubs and sidewalk patios with food, alcoholic libations, live music and entertainment located throughout the Taste circuit will beckon tasters to explore the Downtown core. For June’s vendors, Tasters will once again be able to vote for several “Best of “categories resulting in additional marketing support for the winners by DLBA’s marketing team. At the first taste event in East Village, almost 1,000 votes were cast for the following fan favorites:

🏆 Best Overall: The Ordinarie

🏆 Best Savory: Cheris Caribbean Kitchen

🏆 Best Sweet: Ladie Kakes

🏆 Most Creative Booth: Ladie Kakes

🏆 Best Mac & Cheese: Cheris Caribbean Kitchen

In addition to interacting with thousands of attendees, participating restaurants, bars and retail shops get to tap into DLBA’s marketing and social media promotions, which generated more than 120,000 event views in May.

“We’re very excited to participate in Taste of Downtown,” said James Nemecek, Marketing Director for Jersey Mike’s, a vendor sponsor. “This has been an excellent way to engage with the community. When you stop by our tent and order a sandwich, it will be like having a great conversation with a friend.”
