Last year’s Summer and Music (SAM) series—Long Beach’s premiere music event that spreads the musical love across DTLB annually—introduced a new event where skate culture and music collided: 720° Pine. Given the importance of Beach Streets catering to all forms of human capability (and not just the bike), it was only befitting that we bring a mini version of 720° Pine to the skaters of DTLB’s upcoming Beach Streets event.

Taking over Pine Avenue at 7th Street, 720° Pine will have free live music from ten to five. The lineup includes synth punk outfit Danger Friends, Glendale’s psychedelic duo Two Eights (aka 8|8), and Long Beach rockers Telephone Lovers. Spinning in between band sets will be DJ Soluz

With its moniker both honoring the famed Atari arcade game from the 1980s and signaling the approximate location of the venue, 720° Pine at Beach Streets is set to be dedicated to all things about skating. Skateboard culture, particularly in Long Beach, has a rich attachment to music that embraced and helped define the sport.

720° Pine at Beach Streets will take place on Pine Avenue at 7th Street on March 19, from 10am to 5PM.
