If you’ve celebrated Pride Weekend in Long Beach, then you know the Pink Party. Well, it’s back with new energy and a new name celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, it’s now known as The Pride Rally.  A fun night of music, dance, and entertainment is in store for attendees to this event, which is designed to bring people and communities together in support of LGBT rights and causes.

Pride Rally will be held on Friday, May 19th on the Promenade in Downtown Long Beach and goes all night from 7 p.m. – 1 a.m. Tickets are $20 at the door, but are available $10 pre-sale for a limited time. This event will also kick off the Long Beach Pride Weekend, as the Pride Rally is the official kickoff to the weekend’s festivities, while a portion of the proceeds will benefit The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach.

Some of SoCal’s favorite food trucks will provide the grub at the event including Brew Wings, Pho King Awesome, Comfort Foods, and Blast Ice Cream, while the bar will be provided by Hamburger Mary’s. Entertainment will include a live DJ, MC Scott Nevins, performances by drag queens, and an awards ceremony to the original founders of the Pink Party.

“The Pink Party has long been a community staple in Long Beach,” says Debra Kahookele, co-founder of the Pride Rally.  “We are excited to take this event and bring a new and exciting outlook into it with the Pride Rally.”  Stuart Takehara, fellow co-founder adds, “We want to make the Pride Rally an annual affair with events throughout California and the nation.”
