Long Beach Mardi Gras returns on Saturday February 25, 2017 to Shoreline Village and Rainbow Harbor. One of the largest annual free community events in Long Beach, #MardiGrasLB invites you to join thousands of cheering revelers as Shoreline Village hosts an afternoon of music, art, festivities, and more, as folks of all ages dress up, dance, and make merry along Long Beach’s beautiful Rainbow Harbor.

The event runs from 12PM to 5PM on Saturday and will be family-friendly celebration including the annual Long Beach Mardi Gras Parade. Parade starts at 3pm in front of the Aquarium of the Pacific. Expect dancers, stilt-walkers, mimes, clowns, musicians – and more in the New Orleans-style celebration.

Every year Long Beach Mardi Gras crowns a new King and Queen. This year they are honoring Brian Addison and Councilwoman Jeannine Pearce. Always a fixture throughout DTLB, Addison is an award-winning journalist whose name has become synonymous with impactful journalism in Long Beach. Councilwoman Pearce takes her passions for civic duty and social activism to City Hall and has served as Public Policy Director of the Los Angeles for a New Economy, where she campaigned in the front line to ensure the rights of hotel workers.

At the grandstand on the grass just north of Yardhouse, this year’s Mistress of Ceremonies Jewels Long Beach will be announcing the parade.

This is a free event, but all donations made will benefit the Long Beach organizations: Beacon for Him, Long Beach Rescue Mission and Long Beach Multi Service Center.
