When the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) renovated and expanded its offices, the organization opened its walls to artists across Long Beach in a bid to have their art featured.

Now in its second year running, DLBA’s Talent Pool 2016 exhibition will opened up to residents and visitors alike for the chance to view the art on Friday, September 30 from 4PM to 7PM at 100 West Broadway, Suite 120.

The DLBA funds the selection process and provide honoraria to the selected artists for the use of their work. Talent Pool 2016 jurors include Ron Nelson Executive Director Long Beach Art Museum, Edward Hayes, Exhibition Curator at the Museum of Latin American Art, Brian Trimble Gallery Director, CSULB, Julia Huang, President of Interim Design and John Hall, Lead organizer for POW! WOW! Long Beach, along with local artist Renee Tanner and the DLBA’s own Brian Addison, who heads communications.

Featured in the exhibit are the works of:

Joining the DLBA’s exhibit will be a large-scale exhibition at MADE in Long Beach entitled Deep End of the Pool. It boasts a collection of some of the regions best artists, including artists already featured in the DLBA offices: Jennifer Celio, Olga Lah, Christine Nguyen, Jorge Mujica, Gregory Sabin, Dave Van Patten. Project by J. Renee Tanner FINE ART. at MADE in Long Beach at 236 Pine Avenue.

“The artists presenting work in these exhibits cover a host of subjects, and the exhibition captures the energy of Long Beach,” Tanner said. “With The Deep End of the (Talent) Pool in Long Beach, we’re not just selling art; we’re telling stories and this is one of the ways to explore, admire, and acquire fine art from gifted emerging artists in our local community.”

Two receptions for the artists will be held for the public to attend. On Saturday, September 17 MADE in Long Beach will host the celebratory event for Deep End of the Pool from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. On Friday, September 30 at 4:00PM, the DLBA will host a preview of Talent Pool 2016, followed by a walk to MADE in Long Beach where a presentation will take place at 6:00PM.

Outside of the receptions, the Talent Pool 2016 exhibition can be viewed at the DLBA Offices Monday through Friday from 10:00AM to 4:00PM and Deep End of the Pool Monday through Thursday from 10:00AM to 6:00PM, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00AM to 7:00PM and Sundays from noon to 6:00PM.
