Whether you’re looking to recharge, grab a quick meal, or take care of your four-legged friend, these new spots have you covered. Here’s what’s new around DTLB:
READY NOW WELLNESS / 35 LINDEN AVE. STE. 101

PROMENADE VETERINARY HOSPITAL / 201 THE PROMENADE STE. 105
Check out the parade of Downtown dog walkers out for a stroll early in the morning or in the post-work hours and you’ll know why Promenade Veterinary Hospital is a perfect addition to the heart of DTLB.
“We are a privately owned, full service animal hospital with state-of-the-art technology and equipment to help all of your fur babies in need,” said the owner, Dr. Tiffany Meyers-Hayes. “We love being on The Promenade, because we get to see all the happy dogs and their humans go by every day. We can’t wait to meet all of our new neighbors and become part of your doggies’ and kitties’ families!”
Promenade Veterinary Hospital offers wellness exams, dental care, and nutrition counseling, as well as vaccinations, parasite prevention, surgery, geriatric care, and spaying & neutering. There is also an Emergency Care number: (562) 450-5893.
SHORE DOGGS / 325 ATLANTIC AVE.
Victoria Ayash and Nicole Moonier bring over a decade of pet care experience to their new shop, which opened in April. Their journey began as a dog walking and pet sitting business in 2014, serving Belmont Shore, East Long Beach, and Seal Beach. As time went on, they expanded their offerings with socialization services such as dog park trips and pack walks.
“Recognizing the increasing demand for pet care in Long Beach, we felt it was time to spread our wings even further,” they said. “In April we proudly opened our Downtown doors, bringing 24/7 supervision, daycare, grooming, pack walks, and more to the heart of the DTLB community. Our commitment to exceptional pet care aims to enrich the vibrant Downtown atmosphere, and we look forward to meeting you and your pups soon.”

ZI’S KITCHEN / 730 LONG BEACH BLVD.
Neighbors, students at nearby schools, and burrito lovers all over town are showing up to sample Zi’s tacos, burritos, nachos, enchiladas, and unconventional dishes such as fruity pebbles waffles. “Our goal is to serve our community with dishes that feel like childhood,” said owner Ziaryth Ochoa.
“We are happy to be a new addition to a wonderful community filled with so much diversity,” Ochoa continued. “Our motivation for opening Zi’s Kitchen is our love for customer service. We pride ourselves in creating a space in which customers can come in expecting a great experience and food made with fresh ingredients. Zi’s Kitchen is a product of love and care, and we will continue to lead with those qualities.”
The casual, family-friendly spot is perfect for a quick bite or a complete comfort meal. All menu items, including vegan and vegetarian options, are available for dine-in or take-out.
Zi’s Kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM. Closed on Sunday.
AZN / 325 THE PROMENADE N
AZN is internet shorthand for “Asian.” It’s a great name for a spot where the concise menu manages to touch upon the flavor highlights of Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, China, and Thailand!
Located in the heart of Downtown, AZN is ideal for getting a tasty, nutritious meal during your lunch break, or when fueling up for your Downtown shopping excursion. Choose your base — brown rice, noodles, or salad — and select from bowl styles such as the very popular Hokkaido, with salmon, mixed greens, chives, carrots, broccoli, and edamame, or the Taiwan Lu Rou Fan, which features roast pork, green onion, osinko, egg, and cucumber.
AZN is also known for its fabulous catering services. Get in touch for a quote if you’re interested in catering your next event, whether big or small!
LONG BEACH PET GROOMING / 480 PINE AVE.
Owner Anthony Barrios and his good friend Gerry the Groomer have combined many years of experience to create a new business that has all the Downtown dogs and cats talking! They love the shop’s friendly atmosphere and the full-service, top-level grooming for canines and felines.
The shop is cage-free, which means that unless you’re an unfriendly doggie or kitty, you’ll be frolicking in a comfortable enclosure with your fellow creatures while getting ready for your appointment or waiting for your hooman to pick you up!
Monthly teeth cleaning clinics are offered. The cleanings are safe, gentle, and done without anesthesia. Click the link above to schedule an appointment.
Long Beach Pet Grooming is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM. Closed on Sunday.
