Many (rightfully feel) that Music Tastes Good (MTG), a three-day festival in DTLB that hopes to attract and draw the respect of fellow fests like FYF and Coachella (but with the distinct flavor of DTLB and a bit smaller in scale), is filling a much-needed void in the city’s festival scene.

While organizers had announced most of their lineup already, the biggest question left was who would be headlining their Friday slot—and MTG has said that none other than Long Beach rock royalty Rival Sons (who played at our Buskerfest event last year).

Joining Rival Sons will be acts like Iron & Wine, Warpaint, De La Soul and Sylvan Esso will join old-school talents like The Specials to headline. Other artists on the bill include Dr. Dog, Gallant, Deltron 3030, The Melvins, Living Colour, Twin Peaks, Las Cafeteras, RX Bandits, Metz, Kate Tempest, Nick Waterhouse, Cody Chesnutt and Girlpool.

Organizers haven’t shied away from local talent either, bringing on Dustin Lovelis, Rudy De Anda, Spare Parts For Broken Hearts, and more.

Music Tastes Good will run Sept. 23 through Sept. 25 and three-day passes will cost $120. A VIP option, which includes a meal, is $240. Day tickets will be sold as well, ranging from $25 to $75.
