Downtown seriously popped off on Sunday, Feb. 1, when the Vans Warped Tour EZ Sip Downtown Long Beach Block Party pulled up to Promenade Square Park for a surprise pop-up show. The crowd understood the assignment, packing the park and going full send as post-punk faves Holy Wars, Girlfriends, and Big Ass Truck I.E. tore up the stage.
In between sets, people refueled with specialty drinks from a solid lineup of local spots, Buen Provecho, The Ordinarie Tavern, ISM Brewing, El Viejon, and The Stave Bar, because hydration, but make it fun. The whole thing felt like a perfectly chaotic teaser for the 31st edition of the Tour, set to take over Shoreline Aquatic Park July 25 and 26.
