NFL Sundays aren’t what they used to be—forget the fuzzy rabbit ears and tiny black-and-white screens your grandparents squinted at. Today, it’s wall-to-wall high-def action, surround sound, and graphics so sharp they make you feel like you’re in the huddle.
Pair that with a table full of friends, your favorite drinks, and plates of comfort food, and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect Sunday. Downtown’s local bars and restaurants are ready to be your home base all season long—whether you’re catching every down with fellow fans or just enjoying the game in good company.
Check out these cool places for top-quality NFL viewing every Sunday (and most Mondays and Thursdays) for the next five months.
SHENANIGANS IRISH PUB & GRILLE / 423 SHORELINE VILLAGE DR.
Shenanigans is a spectacular place to watch NFL football! Co-owner Cathy Love elaborated: “We have 14 large HD TV screens, and on Sundays we often air three games at once, with the sound up for each game in a different room so you won’t get sensory overload.”
Love also mentioned the fun promos that happen during games. You get 20% off Mexican and domestic draft beers, and 20% off well drinks! “If you wear your NFL jersey — no matter which team — you’ll get 20% off appetizers,” Love added.
Monday and Thursday night games will be shown as well. Augment your game time experience with treats from Shenanigans’ fantastic food menu, and plan to stick around Sunday evening for some hot live music.
ANNA’S JOINT / 443 PINE AVE.
This friendly neighborhood pub has three big screens and proudly airs NFL games, but the vibe is low-key compared to a sports bar. “We take requests for what the customers want to watch,” said Emilia Dennis, shift lead of the market side of Anna’s.
The sound is on for NFL games, but is kept at a volume where normal conversations can be heard. Appetizers, sandwiches, and other goodies are available from the delicious food menu, along with a variety of tasty bevvies — including draft beer pitchers.
Games are shown all day Sunday and also on Monday and Thursday nights, subject to a group consensus by pub patrons!
BO-BEAU KITCHEN & ROOFTAP / 144 PINE AVE.
“BO-beau Kitchen + Roof Tap is where the energy of Downtown Long Beach meets the excitement of the game,” said general manager Michelle Kagasoff. “With wall-to-wall TVs and open-air rooftop vibes, we blend elevated gastropub fare, curated cocktails, over 20 craft beers, and zero-proof brews.”
All of this paired with exceptional hospitality creates an atmosphere that is as welcoming as it is lively! “BO-beau is the kind of spot where every fan and even the non-fans feel right at home,” said Kagasoff. “Game day at BO-beau is truly for everyone.”

BABY BROS PIZZA / 217 PINE AVE.
Anyone who has ever watched a wrestling event here — or has walked by during one — knows that this is a go-to place for electrifying sports entertainment! The big screens, big sound, and boisterous fans also make this a prime NFL viewing spot.
Sunday visitors to Baby Bros can expect a relaxed, casual, family and football-friendly atmosphere, with a small arcade off the main room. The food is perfectly football-friendly! Try their mouthwatering “The Works” pizza, split an order of Potato Wedges, and wash ’em down with an ice-cold beer or wine. If you like to watch football while people-watching, there’s patio seating out front!
SHANNON’S ON PINE / 209 PINE AVE.
“One of the best parts about watching an NFL game at Shannon’s on Pine is that we do not cater to just one team,” said senior manager Christian Skipworth. “Fans of all teams are welcome to enjoy great food and drinks, a lively football atmosphere, and the warm hospitality of our staff.”
Shannon’s hosts official watch parties for big games like the Super Bowl rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs this Sunday, Sept. 14 at 1:25 PM and the Chargers/Raiders rivalry battle on Monday night, Sept. 15 at 7 PM.
Throughout the games you’ll have tasty pub classics from the all-day food menu at your fingertips! Shannon’s is a fine place indeed for hungry, thirsty NFL fans and those who like to tag along.
ISM BREWING & KITCHEN / 210 E 3RD ST.
This spot, known for cool activities such as the Monday Night Epic Pub Quiz, Wing Wednesday, and Cumbia Night, also likes to put NFL games up on the big screens. “We do show the games, but they’re just a part of what’s going on. You can hold a relaxed conversation, enjoy your food, and not miss a moment of your big game of choice.”
ISM brews some of the finest craft beers around, and they pair perfectly with such sports-compatible dishes as the Giro D’ Italia Steak Sandwich and the Coneywood Confidential Chili Dog. Click here for a sneak peak at all the edible awesomeness that awaits you during Game Day Sunday!
ALTAR SOCIETY BREWING & COFFEE CO. / 230 PINE AVE.
Altar Society’s mix of new-school TVs and old-school vibes make it an ideal place for checking out NFL games on Sunday! Ten 65-inch screens discreetly installed throughout the ground floor (and above the massive beer brewing tanks) allow patrons to keep up with their favorite gridiron clashes all day.
Known for its excellent craft beers brewed on the premises, Altar Society is also gaining a reputation for super football food. Check out this menu for shareables, hot and cold sandwiches, sliders, and a variety of fabulous wood-fired pizzas!
