A tide of athletic, kinetic energy has swept into Downtown, and the summer edition of the DTLB Art + Design Walk aims to capture that spirit. “The Art of Movement: Where sport, design and creativity intersect” is the theme of the July 11 event, organized by the DTLB Alliance in collaboration with DTLB Design District, Studio One Eleven, and the Arts Council for Long Beach (ArtsLB).

This summer, the streets of Downtown have been filled with soccer fans and World Cup watch parties, while preparations continue for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, when DTLB will host multiple competitions. The July Art + Design Walk builds on this moment, inviting artists, designers, galleries, businesses, and cultural organizations to explore how movement—physical, creative, and cultural—shapes the places and communities around us.

This event, which runs from 2 to 7 PM (some activation times may vary), spans walkable Downtown neighborhoods, including Pine & Promenade, North Pine, and the East Village Arts District. To make your Art + Design Walk exploration even easier, three complimentary DRIVER shuttles will be available all day.

Spend an afternoon moving around, celebrating how movement inspired by athletics fosters creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange! Check out these event highlights:
