Long Beach, CA (July 21, 2025) – The Downtown Long Beach (DTLB) Art + Design Walk returns Saturday, July 26, as part of its ongoing quarterly series, bringing a wide-reaching celebration of creativity to the streets, storefronts, and public spaces of Downtown Long Beach. Now in its third year, the Walk has evolved into a dynamic platform for art, design, performance, and community connection.
Organized by the Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DTLB Alliance) in collaboration with the DTLB Design District, Studio One Eleven, DreamKreator Studio, Mosaic, and the Arts Council for Long Beach, the event reimagines downtown as an immersive creative destination—bringing artists, designers, students, and local businesses together in a collective celebration of Long Beach’s cultural energy.
“This is no longer just an art walk. It’s a platform for collaboration and a catalyst for reimagining what downtown Long Beach can be,” said Austin Metoyer, President and CEO of the DTLB Alliance. “We’ve seen this grow from a pilot into a signature event for the area. Each edition builds deeper relationships with the creative community and helps shape a more vibrant, inclusive downtown.”
Event Highlights:
- Downtown-Wide Activation: From the East Village to Pine Avenue, the Walk transforms galleries, storefronts, and public spaces into vibrant showcases of art, design, music, and interactive experiences.
- Historic Spaces Reimagined: The iconic Acres of Books site returns as a creative anchor, featuring The Money Train by Kevin Sherrod.
- Creative and Academic Partnerships: Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College present immersive exhibits, student showcases, and collaborative design activations.
- Citywide Energy: The Walk aligns with Vans Warped Tour and the Long Beach Walls / Art Renzei Festival, creating one of the most vibrant weekends of the year. Long Beach Walls will unveil a new mural at the Lincoln Park skate park, and wraps with a Stand Strong closing party with Thinkspace Gallery at the Edison Theatre.
- Lincoln Park Activation: For the first time, Lincoln Park joins the Walk with public art tours hosted by the Arts Council for Long Beach, featuring The Shape of Long Beach and appearances by project artists.
- Long Beach Food Scene Week: Long Beach restaurants are partnering with bands for a Vans Warped Tour & Long Beach Food Scene collaboration, including Downtown restaurants The Ordinarie, Bo-beau kitchen + roof tap, and The 4th Horseman.
