LONG BEACH, CA [Oct. 3, 2025] – The Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DTLB Alliance) Economic Development Department has announced the launch of its new Data Dashboard, an interactive Power BI tool that provides real-time insights into retail, office, and residential trends across the Downtown Long Beach Business Improvement District.
Stephanie El Tawil, Economic Development and Policy Manager at the DTLB Alliance, emphasized the value of the dashboard for the local business and real estate development community:
“It is our hope that presenting this data in real time and allowing our stakeholders and potential investors to interact and export specific market trends will minimize vacancies and catalyze attraction efforts.”
A New Approach to Economic Data
The launch of the Data Dashboard marks a major shift in how the Alliance shares market information with stakeholders. Previously, the Alliance produced quarterly market reports—each quarter covering one market sector, with a single annual summary of all sectors. Now, each market (retail, office, residential) is updated monthly, ensuring stakeholders always have access to the most current information. A concise, annual print summary of all markets will still be produced for reference.
Enhanced Access and Functionality
This new platform provides more flexibility, allowing the Alliance to integrate data from a variety of sources without the limitations of traditional print reports. Stakeholders can now:
- Download data in raw or visualized formats for use in external marketing and promotional materials.
- Leverage the dashboard’s visualizations to customize content for unique branding needs (e.g., leasing brochures).
- Access newly configured data applications and filter information by topic, project, or trend.
Additional Insights Available
In addition to core market data, the dashboard includes:
- Development Map: Approved, planned, and in-progress projects in Downtown Long Beach.
- Opportunity Map: Current office, residential, and retail spaces available for lease.
- Demographics: Residential and workforce population data, event attendance, and pedestrian traffic counts.
- Alliance Impact: Economic Development, Placemaking, and Clean & Safe program metrics.
Supporting Downtown’s Growth
“Staying on top of DTLB data in real time allows us to respond to inquiries, highlight assets, and create opportunities to promote DTLB to investors, businesses, residents, and visitors,” said El Tawil.
