
Event kicks off the neighborhood mural program and
October Edition of Art + Design Walk
WHAT:
The Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DTLB Alliance) invites media and community members to the unveiling of the first mural in the new Neighborhood Map Mural Project. Created by local artist Robert Lebsack, the piece celebrates the spirit, people, and landmarks of North Pine and Downtown.
The unveiling will launch the mural program (with up to seven murals planned by 2028) and officially kick off the Oct. 11 Art + Design Walk.

BACKGROUND:
The mural series was initiated earlier this year when the DTLB Alliance Placemaking Committee released a Request for Artists. The program is part of a broader effort to strengthen neighborhood identity and foster pride in the lead-up to the 2028 Olympics and beyond.

This event celebrates public art, placemaking, and community connection, all while inviting residents and visitors to enjoy Art + Design Walk and October Arts Month programming throughout Downtown Long Beach.
