In celebration and recognition of Women’s History Month, Downtown Long Beach Alliance’s March Downtown Discussions virtual event addressed the topic, “Supporting Women in the Workplace”. On March 30, a panel of Long Beach businesswomen, moderated by the National Women’s Business Council, discussed the resources and tools necessary for employers to bring women back to the workforce following a devastating year of COVID-19, what proactive companies and institutions can do to promote women to meaningful senior-level positions, and the values of a workplace culture that better support women. Panelists also discussed the unique experiences that women face in the workplace, focusing on systemic and ongoing challenges as it relates to leadership, equity, entrepreneurship, and representation.
