The first DTLB Art + Design Walk of the year is a Valentine’s Day love letter to Downtown! Organized and supported by DTLB Alliance, DTLB Design District, Studio One Eleven, Dreamz Into Goals and Office of Councilwoman Zendejas, creativity and invention will be on display throughout DTLB on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 2 to 7 PM. February is also Black History Month, and you’ll have the opportunity to celebrate at a special festival on The Promenade during the Walk. This one of several must-visit activations on a day when Downtown will be positively buzzing with artistry, music, shopping, community vibes, and lots of love.

The 2ND ANNUAL BLACK HISTORY MONTH LEGACY, UNITY & LOVE FESTIVAL at 300 The Promenade N. will honor African American achievements and heritage through live performance, cultural exhibits, family-friendly activities, and more. This festival is brought to you by the DTLB-based community culture service organization Dreamz Into Goals (DIG).

ATTUNE, a large-scale light & sound art experience designed to relax and harmonize, is happening at Promenade Square Park, 215 E 1st St., from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. Bring your people, picnic blanket and chairs, and let this installation soothe you as the sun sets.

ARTIST’S VILLAGE & ARTIST’S ALLEY
Stroll through the Artist’s Village along the Promenade between 3rd Street and Broadway and visit the local makers, designers, and visionaries displaying their works and more. As you make your way toward Attune, you’ll find the Artist’s Alley begins at Broadway, leading the way toward the sound-focused outdoor installation. You’ll get to see Lucent Shifts by Olga Lah, a free-form work in light and movement, and Telephone Lines by Nick Dynice, an interactive network of analog phones.

FUTURE FEST is a space-y, family-friendly block takeover at 240 Pine Ave. produced by Space Beach Law Lab that celebrates Long Beach’s aerospace heritage through music, storytelling, workshops, art, and more.

“COULTER JACOBS: THIS SIDE OF THE TRUTH,” is an exhibition at LBMA Downtown, 356 E 3rd St. which fuses tattoo culture, abstract expressionism, and personal mythology. For the Art + Design Walk, Jacobs is curating a Classic Car & Motorcycle Show!

A VINTAGE SPLENDOR POP-UP will happen right outside Studio One Eleven, 245 E 3rd St., from noon to 3 PM. You’re invited to shop, schmooze, and style yourself out with beautifully-curated vintage gear.

EAST VILLAGE ARTS DISTRICT SECOND SATURDAY ART BLOCK will take over the East Village from 11 AM to 5 PM. Pick up a free rose, check out a live painting demo, get a tarot reading, treat yourself to a 15-minute massage, set your kids free at the crafts table, make a Valentine’s Day paw print card with your dog, and much more!
