Labor Day Weekend is your chance to clock out of work mode and clock in to fun! Think of it as summer’s grand finale (but don’t worry, the sunshine isn’t going anywhere just yet). With warm temps and cool ocean breezes, Downtown is the perfect playground: cruise the coast in a surrey with your crew, move and groove to house music on a boat at sunset, line dance under the stars on the Queen Mary, cheer on a fabulous drag show, and rock out to live bands day and night.

Labor Day Weekend Events on the Queen Mary

The Queen Mary is a royal party spot! Kick off Labor Day Weekend on Friday, Sept. 4 with “Labor Day After Dark” in the No.3 Speakeasy, get elegant with afternoon tea service in the Chelsea Chowder House on Saturday, Sept. 5, and have fun line dancing on the Verandah Deck on Sunday, Sept. 6. Shoreline Village Summer Concert Series
The Off Boardwalk stage near the Funnel House, which has been hosting this weekly series since Memorial Day Weekend, will wrap it up during all three days of Labor Day Weekend. On Saturday, Sept. 5 the ‘90s band As IF will play from 1 to 5 PM, followed by the versatile Pop Vision band from 6 to 10 PM; DJ Impeccable Styles will spin from 1 to 5 PM on Sunday, Sept. 6; and on Monday, Sept. 7 the ‘90s band So Rad will play from 1 to 5 PM. These events are FREE and open to all ages.
Live Bands at Shenanigans Pub & Grille

Shenanigans is a one-stop shop for Labor Day Weekend live music! Dance and groove to the six live bands (two per day) that will be playing. On Saturday, Sept. 5 it’s Sovereign Vine from 2 to 6 PM followed by Rawnsley from 8 PM to midnight; Sunday, Sept. 6 features The Broughams from noon to 4 PM and Rasta Fuego from 6 to 10 PM; and on Monday, Sept. 7, Sugarlips plays from 11 AM to 4 PM, then hands it off to In The Red from 5 to 10 PM.
Feast on breakfast, lunch, and dinner from the extensive food menu, and sip from the pub’s wonderful assortment of beers, ales, and whiskeys.

This bike rental spot at 429G Shoreline Village Drive, which will be open from morning ‘til late in the evening throughout Labor Day Weekend, has an awesome variety of cycle options in a place perfect for riding! Choices include cruising with the fam in a four-wheel surrey, touring the coastline with a friend on a tandem bike, or making it easy on yourself with an electric bike.
Those seeking more adventure can take a self-guided bike tour, included free with every full-day and half-day two-wheel bike rental, which takes riders around Shoreline Village, Naples, and Seal Beach. Deep House Brunch Sunset Boat Party
Cruising the harbor as the sun goes down, dancing to elite-level house music, and knowing there’s no work tomorrow; What could be better? That’s the scenario on Sunday, Sept. 6 from 5 to 9 PM when Catalina Classic Cruises presents DJ Mark Farina, house music superstar. He will orchestrate a healing house music set that will be perfect for Labor Day Weekend.
Labor Day Weekend Events at Hamburger Mary’s
The always-festive Hamburger Mary’s at 330 Pine Ave. hosts a looong Labor Day Weekend, starting on Sept. 2 with Wild Wednesdays: The Starlette Review. The excitement builds on the following night, Sept. 3, with the Thirsty Thursdays Drag Show. The good times continue the next night, Friday Sept. 4, as the Dining With The Divas Drag Show steps into the spotlight. On Saturday Sept. 5 it’s all about the “Brunch With The Brunchettes” Drag Brunch, which encores on Sunday, Sept. 6.
Olive & Rose Sunset Pool Party
Get the jump on Labor Day Weekend at the final Sunset Pool Party of this sweltering summer! It happens on Thursday, Sept. 3 at Olive & Rose in that mid-mod masterpiece, the City Center building at 255 Atlantic Ave. Bring Ray-Bans & a towel and chill poolside from 5 to 9 PM. Have dinner & drinks while being serenaded by DJ Andrei Taru.
Trinity Training Facility and Personal Fitness Center at 117 W 5th St. is the spot for this celebration that’s part workout, part rager! From 10 AM to noon on Saturday, Sept. 5 there will be an energetic fitness experience combining live DJ music, cardio, dance, full-body movement, and high-energy coaching. Dress in your favorite ALL WHITE workout or athleisure attire. Comfortable athletic shoes are strongly recommended because there definitely will be movement! A drink will be included with admission.

Word on the street is that this place has one of the sweetest sound systems in SoCal! Those speakers will be working all weekend to help Labor Day Weekend pop off. On Friday, Sept. 4, DJ G-MATIC will be laying down the reggaeton, hip-hop, and Latin house from 9 PM to 2 AM. Saturday Sept. 5 will be an “all vibes, open format” night with music by NONFIKTION and friends. Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM is all-ages brunch and day party time. DJ LAZYEYE and her colleagues will keep the weekend vibes flowing!

On Sunday, Sept. 6 starting at 3 PM, laugh and shudder at comedy, burlesque, and sideshow acts during the “Barry Under Your Bed” variety show. Monday, Sept. 7 is Film Night. Labor of Love: Merging Forces 5k/10k Run
It’s more than a race: It’s a movement! Runners and walkers of all abilities are invited to spend Labor Day morning getting fresh air, exercising, and enjoying beautiful ocean views. Participants will be assisting the nonprofit Merge Opportunities so it can help underserved young adults, system-impacted individuals, & transitioning foster youth to develop their careers. It starts near Lions Lighthouse at Shoreline Village on Monday, Sept. 7 at 8 AM.
