Subsequent reports will focus on Downtown retail and residential markets, culminating with DLBA’s annual Economic Profile published in May.

2015 Pedestrian Intercept Survey

 
 
 

DLBA conducted a pedestrian intercept survey in Autumn 2014 to better understand the demographic and behavioral trends of the various user groups in Downtown Long Beach. This was the first of three planned surveys to track changes and progress over time. Results of the survey will be used to for future economic development and public realm programming.

2015 Pedestrian Traffic Counts

 
 
 

In January and August 2015 the DLBA funded the measurement of pedestrian and bicycle traffic in Downtown Long Beach. Pedestrian counts are used to help prospective retailers and developers make decisions, to determine priority areas for streetscape improvement and public space activation projects, and to track pedestrian traffic volumes over time.
