Following successful events at The Sky Room and DTLB’s hotels, Live After 5 continues to bring the best of neo-soul into the ears of Long Beach as it launches its third Live After 5: Neo Soulstice on November 10 at the Liberty Gallery from 5PM to 10PM at 435 Alamitos Avenue.

And it’s all for free.

Curated by Tokotah Ashcraft, this month’s event will offer up a style of music that blends several contemporary styles into seamless sounds.

“Neo soul music blends my favorite genres of music from hip hip to jazz to soul and everything in between,” said Ashcraft. “It is a mash up of beautiful things just like Long Beach and Neo Soulstice is curated to be an event for the people.”

This months event features:

Eddie Cole

  • Eddie Cole was 18 years from being born when his great uncle died, the famed Nat King Cole, passed. The work of his music-centric family left an indelible legacy on Eddie, letting the vocalist and instrumentalist not only carry a name with pride. At the moment, but catching the eye of everyone from Nas to Alina Baraz and Galimatias with his soulful style.

Iman Europe

  • Iman Europe might be an unsigned singer/songwriter, but born-in-New York and raised-in-SoCal songstress offers an undeniably unique blend of R&B, hip-hop and psychedelics. The creative writing major is inspired by artists such as Andre 3000, Erykah Badu, Kanye West, John Legend, and Beyonce. She personally notes that she is “on the Taurus/Gemini cusp with the same birthday as Malcolm X with a one-of-a-kind eclectic fashion style. At a beautiful height of 5’11, an incomparable voice and a name like Iman Europe, she is destined to make her mark in the music industry.” We can’t wait.

The Natives

  • This Long Beach band has been called our city’s own version of De La Soul. OC Weekly calls them a duo with “a message planted in the conscious lyrics of late 1980s New York hip-hop and beats stuck firmly in diverse-as-hell Long Beach.” For us, we’re happy to host them once again for our series.

Rounding it all out will be none other than Neo Soulstice veteran NiceGuyxVinny spinning the sweet and sultry sounds that captivate his audiences continuously.

Live After 5: Neo Soulstice III takes place on Thursday, November 10, at the Liberty Gallery located at 435 Alamitos Ave., from 5PM to 10PM.
