Clean and Safe Employees of the Quarter

Each quarter the DLBA recognizes one member from both the Clean Team and Downtown Guides who have excelled in their roles as ambassadors for Downtown Long Beach.

For the 1st Quarter of 2010, we are proud to acknowledge Janet Maciel of the Downtown Clean Team, and Marco Camacho, a Downtown Safety Guide.  Congratulations to both on a job well done.

Clean Team Employee of the Quarter: Janet Maciel

Janet Maciel has served as Restroom Host at the Long Beach Transit Information Center since June of 2009. Not only is Maciel reliable and punctual, she is very kind, patient and professional with the public. On Saturday she assists the Safety Guides with the reopening of First Street after the Farmers' market. Her problem solving skills and can-do attitude reflects well on DLBA and ABM Janitorial.

Guide Employee of the Quarter: Marco Camacho

Marco Camacho has been working as a Safety Guide for six months. A student at CSULB, Camacho has demonstrated strong leadership skills and works several shifts a week as a Lead Guide. His great attitude and strong work ethic sets a good example for his fellow team mates. His willingness to go the extra mile makes him a great asset to DLBA and Block by Block.

“The Clean and Safe staff members have the opportunity to do a lot of outreach to the community, interacting with tourists, employees and residents,” explained DLBA Operations Manager Mary Coburn. “We greatly appreciate their commitment and service to enhance the Downtown area.”
